Just to share something that came up on my mind.
I was searching around for reviews on some of the skincare/cosmetics online. So while i was surfing, i noticed that it is significantly harder to find reviews that are genuine as compared to the past. Most of the reviews now are either for advertisement purposes, or bloggers just grab the content off the website and paste it on theirs. Now, i’m not saying that there are no genuine posts around, it’s just… hard to find. Don’t get me wrong. It gets frustrating when you see reviews from different blogs but they all sounds the same.
Funniest thing would be e.g. Blogger A claims that makeup remover X is her highly raved product and how it changes her makeup removal routine. But shortly after, there will be new post of hers exclaiming how she is in love with makeup removal Y. Both are ad purposes.
Like, hello?! What’s the point of reviewing when it is not sincere? Viewers can see all these, please. Soon, i gave up searching for bloggers’ review since 1) they don’t help much, 2) mostly are ads, 3) they are so much younger than me, i’ve probably tried so much more products then they had and well…we don’t have similar skin type. theirs could be much more elastic etc etc.
I will still be relying on the good o’ Makeupalley for reviews.
